- DUST 514 largely cashed off of AURUM. There was no possibility of cashing off of subscriptions like CCP does with EVE Online, because EVE > DUST graphically, expansively, and competitively. This is a basic assumption shown by CCP Logic. The problem with AURUM is that some people buy a lot of AUR and others buy next to none, meaning that CCP cannot guarantee cash flow. On the other hand, subscription means that there is a dependable, steady cash flow.
-->As a result, this could mean that the LEGION program will be a PC version of DUST, albeit with comparable graphics to EVE, better attention to detail, and subscriptions. There is also a possibility of tying EVE Subscription and "Legion" subscriptions together, encouraging many DUST players or EVE players to play "the Legion project" whilst still being able to play EVE.
The Playstyle Implication/"Making Legion/DUST a game changer"
- DUST 514 had a lot of problems as an FPS, especially since it runs on PS3. PS4, comparably, has far superior graphics and network support than PS3. So why run on the PS3?
Ultimately the switch to PC is logical; PS3 can only do so much. PC is more of a true sandbox--always improving and will still be around for quite a long time. On the other hand, PC gaming can be more expensive and less affordable, thus the community might shrink. Of course, CCP already has accounted for this, no doubt, so useless General Forum QQ is getting nowhere.
Downright Conspiracy Theory--The DUST Expirement
- This really is more of my opinion than anything else, but when we think back...
-->Why did CCP release DUST almost/a year ago when PS4 was coming at the end of the year? Why not release it on PS4? ----->As a result of this does it not make sense that we DUST players were "plotted test subjects" from a long time ago? If we think about it, DUST as a whole (including forums) would make for very interesting statistics and study on the psychology of F2P gamers and/or DUST players as a whole. There is a WEALTH of knowledge, from the critics, to the vets and new players, that can be gained. Watching how these said players interact and react towards updates and towards each other in such a game system means a lot of Data can be analyzed.
To be utterly fair and honest--we had it coming. We should have seen it years away. And meanwhile, us Console gamers are being laughed at NOT by EVE players, per se, but by the whole "PC Master Race" as a whole. You see, thats the difference with EVE. You don't play EVE on a console. You play it on PC.
CCP and their logic: Do what works and makes us money. EVE worked, and it was a success. At least it didn't die, and there are still plenty of subscriptions. So why work with the trainwreck that is DUST 514? Why not go back to a platform that works?
In the end, their logic is basic human logic. Understandable. Infuriating, perhaps, but not something to be pissed off about, unless you spent $100s of dollars and have absolutely no way to recover your "long hours spent."
In that case, the QQ is well deserved and CCP should indeed take note.
how can you defend ccp? THEY BROUGHT THIS GAME HERE TO BEGIN WITH AND WITH A MICROTRANSACTION STORE... they obviously thought they could do it here... their failure to succeed has resulted in a lot of people spending money for nothing... who cares if it makes sense in hindsight.... cant you admit the royaly effed up and betrayed a lot of customers? seriously, how many times does ccp need to eff up and screw people over before you fanbois remove your lips from their d*cks? ^ My thoughts exactly. |
